Ten years ago, vampires took over the world. Humans were sent to camps, kept alive simply so that their blood could be harvested, and the few free ones spend too much time avoiding capture to fight back.
Scenario 1: You're a royal who's been visiting a camp for a few days, and you find yourself appalled by the conditions. Humans are lower-class, that's just a fact of nature, but you still don't think they should be treated like this. You're on your way out, stepping into a vehicle, as you see a guard kick one of the slaves to the ground. They raise their hand for a strike that you know will kill something as fragile as a human, and before you can think about it, you're there, stopping their blow. The human is already beaten black and blue, barely conscious and bleeding, and you can't help but take pity on them. As the guard splutters, you-
Scenario 2: You're a human in one of the vampire imprisonment camps. Life isn't good - you're almost always faint and hungry, but you're surviving, and you suppose that's what's important. You wince as a needle is stuck into your arm, draining the blood from you. It happens on a cycle, once every three days, and you still can't help but feel nauseous as the plastic tube trailing from your arm turns red.
Suddenly, the vampire assigned to draw from you stiffens, going into a sharp bow. You stare up with shadowed eyes at a vampire that, by their ornate clothes, must be a royal. Before you realize it, you've made eye contact, caught in a trance by the blood-red eyes that all of these monsters have. You lean forward when they walk on, falling back stiffly on the bed when the connection is broken.
Days later, when you're supposed to be heading in for your blood rotation, the guard takes you somewhere else. You hear him mutter to a companion, voice low. "No idea why a royal would want plain cattle like this."
At the same moment that you realize you've been chosen to feed a royal, the vampire from the other day walks in, looking at you coldly. You-

The sharp branches of the pine trees jabbed at my face and skin as I sprinted through the forest. But I didn't care, I just had to get away from the creature that was chasing me. You want to know how I came to be in this situation?
Well drag up a chair my friend, as what you are about to hear is a personal experience that changed my life.
It was 7:00am when I set off from my

Nathaniel, Dragon Hunter Pt. 1
I wandered the forest for several days, hoping to come across something, anything to eat. I dizzily glanced about, hoping to find some leftover carcass from another predator. The type of animal did not matter at this point; I would eat just about anything.
I sprawled out under a nearby oak tree; it was an effort just to walk around at this point. My situation was dismal; I was alone and afraid in the forest, with no idea how to hunt for myself. Just then, a small water droplet fell onto my nose. I looked up to see the sky darkening with heavy rain clouds.
"Great," I mumbled to myself. "That's just perfect."
I miserably waited out the storm

Some answers to commonly asked questions;
Is this open? Yes. If it's posted, it's open.
Can I do this? Yes. Again, if it's on here, you're perfectly allowed to leave a starter comment - I will very likely ignore anything else.
Can my character be/have/do etc.? Depends. Is it inappropriate? Does it change the plot of the RP? If the answer to both of those questions is no, then yes, they can, and there's no need to ask. If the answer to either of those questions is yes, then ask.
Why haven't you responded to my comment? If I think our writing styles might not be compatible, or if you've broken one of the rules stated in the description of the RP, I will not respond to your comment.

Rules!
1) Paragraph form only.
2) Good grammar.
3) No one liners.
4) At least a base character description.
Switching is an option for both scenarios, just lemme know ^^
